Cash Management is used for venues that use the Till Management feature on the POS. Once tills are closed on the station, the closing manager can log into Clover Sport Manager and manage the till. This article explains how to view and manage tills.
- Navigate to Cash Management > Tills to view existing tills.
- Click on the till that you want to edit. A side panel opens with details of the till.
This screen contains a list of all the individual tills organized chronologically.
Formula: Auto Fill Deposit = Total Cash Collected + Cash Ins - Cash Outs - Starting Bank
Recommended Workflow:
1. On the Station Duo:
- Before ringing in a transaction, navigate to the Till Management interface.
- Tap Register.
- Tap the 3-dot menu.
- Tap Till Management.
- Tap Close Till. This creates a new till period starting at that moment, which appears in the right side menu.
- Next, tap Cash In and select the reason as Starting Bank. Enter the amount of cash you are putting into the till.
- Now you run all your normal transactions. If needed, you might do a Mid Till Bank (put money in because you don't have enough) or a Cash Drop (take cash out or put it into the till because there is too much or not enough cash).
- Throughout the period you may check data points such as expected cash and sales data by running the Audit Report in Till Management
- Tap Register.
- Tap the 3-dot menu.
- Tap Till Management.
- Tap the Till that says Current.
- At the end of the period, Employees may take their tips directly out of the drawer. To track this, they would use the Tip Out function.
- Once all Tip Outs and other actions are completed, navigate to Till Management and tap Close Till again.
- (Optional) Run an Audit Report for the recently closed till period and print it out.
2. On Clover Sport Manager (back office portal):
At the end of the shift, after you have removed the cash from the till and counted it,
- Log into Clover Sport Manager.
- Navigate to Cash Management > Tills.
- Find the most recent till (they are sorted by close date) and click it to show details.
- Type the counted amount of cash into the Final Count field.
- After entering Final Count a Variance might appear. This happens if expected cash doesn't equal the counted cash. If it is non-zero you can either re-count if you think a mistake was made or enter a reason for the variance.
- (Optional) Enter a Deposit amount. This is the physical money you will put into the safe.
- With that complete tap Finalize & Save which locks all changes.
- To view Till Data in Reporting, navigate to Reports > Audit and Theft Control > Tills.
