Surcharges are fees automatically applied to every order, and can be applied as a default set of Surcharges to a whole venue, a Location, a Suite Account, or a Booking via Surcharge Groups. Surcharge Groups allow you to set up a group of Surcharges that can be referenced across Clover Sport Manager, and are most commonly used in Suites and Premium areas.

Fixed vs. Percentage Surcharge
Fixed
Fixed Surcharges add an additional flat dollar amount on an order, such as $50.00.
- Note: Fixed Surcharges incrementally add the dollar amount when adding items to a tab. Every time you add an item to a tab, an additional $50.00 is added to the bill.
Percentage
Percentage Surcharges take a percentage of the order total to calculate how much to charge, such as 20%.
- Note: Percentage Surcharges calculate based on the new order total every time items are added to the tab.
How Are Surcharges Applied?
Surcharges are applied to every order automatically according to where the Surcharge Group gets attached. Surcharges cannot be removed manually from an order.
Venue-Wide Surcharge
A Surcharge Group can be set up as the venue-wide default under Configuration > General Settings. When you add a Surcharge Group here, every Location that is currently using the default will now have surcharges applied to every order.
Location Surcharge
When a Surcharge Group is added to a Location, the surcharge(s) within the group are automatically applied to every order at that Location.
Suite Account Surcharge
When a Surcharge Group is added to a Suite Account, any preorder or event-day order of the Suite booked under that Account is automatically charged the surcharge.
Booking Surcharge
Booking Surcharges override Account and Location Surcharges. When a Surcharge Group is added to a Booking, the preorder associated with that Suite Booking is automatically charged the surcharge.
How to Create a Surcharge
To start managing your Surcharges,
1. Navigate to Configuration > Order Adjustments > Surcharges in Clover Sport Manager.
2. To create a new Surcharge,
- Click Create.
- Click Add Surcharge.
3. Fill in any applicable information, including the Surcharge Name, Tax Group, whether it is a percentage or fixed rate, and if it is for In-seat or Walk-up.

| Walk Up | If checked, surcharge is applied to orders without a Service Location. |
| Tax Group | Select Tax Group if the surcharge has a tax rate. (Leave unselected if there is no tax) |
4. Click Done.

NOTE: When adding a percentage-based surcharge, only whole numbers may be used. Percentages with a decimal are not allowed. Surcharges with a value of 0 can be used to override pre-existing surcharges by booking. |
How to Create a Surcharge Group
Once a Surcharge has been created, save it to the Surcharge Group.
Name the group with an optional description and click Save.
Additional Surcharges may be added to the group by clicking on the blue Add Surcharge button.
Edit a Surcharge or Surcharge Group
If you need to make any changes to a Surcharge or Surcharge Group, simply click on the Surcharge Group. Here you can edit the name and description, as well as mouseover the attached Surcharges where two icons will appear.
The trash icon removes the Surcharge from the Group.
The pencil icon allows you to edit the Surcharge itself. Remember to click SAVE to keep these changes.
