Digital Receipts and Pickup Notifications allow your business to control the food pickup experience. Enabling this feature will allow you to offer a low touch experience by sending text messages to customers to let them know when they can pick up their orders. This article explains how to customize your pickup notifications to meet your business's needs.
Note: The features outlined in this article are enabled with a subscription to Dual Mode Kiosk, Large Format Kiosk or a Mobile Ordering API. If you are interested in purchasing any of these subscriptions please reach out to Product Support or your Customer Success Manager.
Overview
Enabling Digital Receipts and Pickup Notifications allows you to let your guest know when their orders are ready. When an order is ready, you can send customers an automatic SMS (Short Message Service). This feature requires a Station or Flex to run Expeditor mode to send customers their pickup messages.
How to Enable Digital Receipts and Pickup Notifications
To enable a Location to use Digital Receipts and Pickup Notifications,
- Navigate to POS Manager > Locations.
- Click the Location you want to edit. In this example, we will be editing the Kyle's Korndogs.
- Scroll down to the Receipt and Fulfillment Settings section.
- Check the box to Enable digital receipts and pickup notifications.
- Note: Pickup notifications include the name of the Location. For information on how to change a Location name, click here.
Setting a Default Message
A default message can be configured by typing in the Pickup Instructions. In the example below, typing "Pickup Next to Section 100 sign" will show in the text message the customer receives.
Unique Pickup Instructions
For businesses that need more specific and unique instructions for each order, the default message can be replaced. These instructions can be typed on the device or scanned with a QR code. This is a great solution for venues that use food cubbies.
Tapping Notify Guest sends the Default Message if no message is typed in the box or scanned. To learn more about using a custom QR, click here.
