Nickel Rounding is available in Canada to avoid having any change due in pennies since Canada does not use the penny. This article outlines how Nickel Rounding works on the Register.
How to Turn On Nickel Rounding
To configure Nickel Rounding in your venue, you must toggle it on under Configuration > General Settings in Manager under the Payments section.
How Nickel Rounding Works on the Register
1. Once the cart has been loaded, tap Checkout to move to the Tender screen.
2. Tap Cash.
3. Input the amount of cash that the customer hands to you. In this example, the order total is $9.18 and the customer pays with 10 dollars.
4. Tap Submit to calculate the change due.
The system will nearest nickel and then calculate the change due.
In this example, $9.18 rounds to $9.20, so $0.80 is due for change.
5. Tap OK and the order will close.
