There are two modes on the Flex that serve different purposes:
1. Portables Mode: used for concession stands or portables without a need for Service Locations
2. Ordering Mode: used for serving Service Locations such as Sections, Suites, or Tables
Flex devices default to Portables Mode when you initially log in.
You will be prompted to select the Portables Location from a from a list if there is no Default Location set on the Flex device.
Only Locations with Portables Mode enabled and added to your Event are available for selection. For more information, see section How to Enable Portables Mode.
Portables Mode:
Use Portables Mode when you are using the Flex to take orders at a concession stand or portable stand without Service Locations. Portables Mode takes you straight to the Menu when you start an oder.
If you need to switch to Portables Mode, click the three dots in the upper right corner on the Orders page and select Switch to Portables from the drop down menu.

Note: You must be on the Home page (Orders page) to switch between Portables and Ordering Mode. Click the circle on the bottom of the navigation bar to get back to to the Home Page.
How to Enable Portables Mode
1. Navigate to POS Manager > Locations and select the desired Location.
2. Ensure that the Location Status is open. If marked as closed, it will not be available for use on Event Day, even if it's added to the Event.
3. Under Device Settings, toggle on Show Location in Portables Mode.
4. Click Save.
5. Navigate to Labor > Employees. For any employee that needs to utilize Portables Mode, ensure that the Anywhere and Portables boxes are checked.
6. Ensure the Location is added to your Event, or it will not be available for use when you log in.
Ordering Mode:
Use Ordering Mode when you are using Service Locations such as Sections, Suites, or Tables.
When in Ordering Mode, you are prompted to select your Location and Service Location.
To switch to Ordering Mode, click the three dots in the upper right corner on the Orders page and select Switch to Ordering from the drop down menu.
- Note: You must be on the Home page (Orders page) to switch between Portables and Ordering Mode. Click the circle on the bottom of the navigation bar to get back to to the Home Page.
In this example, I am logging into a Commissary Location with Service Locations (Suites) so I will be prompted to select the Suite that I would like to assign my order to:
1. Tap the blue plus sign to start an order.
2. Tap the desired Location from the list. Only Locations configured with Service Locations are listed here.
3. Tap the desired Service Location. Only Service Locations associated with the Location are listed here.
4. Tap Order.
How to Configure Ordering Mode
To set up your Service Locations in Clover Sport Manager,
1. Navigate to Configuration > Service Location and then select which Service Location you would like to create such as Sections, Suites, or Tables.

2. Ensure that the Section, Suite or Table you created is associated with the appropriate Location.
- Sections are associated with Concession Location type.
- Suites are associated with Commissary Location type.
- Tables are associated with Restaurant Location type.
